A new aircraft type for the Aviationtag fleet: The former Iberia Airbus A300 registered under EC-DLH!

In 1981, Airbus handed over the A300 with the manufacturer serial number (MSN) 136 to Iberia and its registration changed from F-WZEN to EC-DLH. The Spanish flag carrier gave the Airbus the name of a Spanish National Park: “Aigues Tortes”.

In 2002 Iberia parted ways with the Airbus A300B4, parking it in Valencia. It was not until 2018 that it was finally recycled and has now been preserved for posterity as an Aviationtag.

Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in terms of haptics, material thickness and colour. Small blemishes bear witness to the plane’s long history and are an authentic reminder of its glory days over the clouds.

The Airbus A300 is a wide-body twin-engine jet developed and manufactured by Airbus. Announced already back in 1969 and first flying in October 1972, it holds the distinction of being the world’s first twin-engined widebody airliner; it was also the first product of Airbus Industrie, a consortium of European aerospace manufacturers, now known as Airbus. The A300 can typically seat 266 passengers in a two-class layout, with a maximum range of 4,070 nautical miles (7,540 km) when fully loaded, depending on the version.

The type first flew on 28 October 1972. Air France, the launch customer for the A300, introduced the type into service on 30 May 1974. Production of the A300 ceased in July 2007, along with its smaller A310 derivative.
