The Spitfire is a must for the Flyingraphics collection. The shirt displays the heritage of the Spitfire starting with the Supermarine S.5 designed by R.J. Mitchell to compete for the Schneider Trophy in 1927. The main illustration shows the MK I type 300 and the MK XIV type 379 in side elevation. On the back of the shirt we have printed an illustration of the Rolls Royce Merlin.
We digitally print using an Epson Surecolor F2100. The process involves spraying the image area with a water-based glue so the fabric will accept the coloured ink. The shirt is then heat-pressed to cure the ink. When the shirt is new, the sprayed area will appear faintly behind the design with the odd splatter of glue. This will disappear in the first wash. We recommend washing inside out on a cold wash and do not tumble dry. All our shirts will have a removable Flyingraphics tag and will be sealed in a clear plastic bag to keep the shirt fresh and clean.
